Bayliner Has Been Leading the Way for Decades

Ever since Orin Edson established Bayliner in 1956, the company has been an industry leader in quality, affordability, and safety. And with three generations of loyal customers dedicated to the Bayliner brand, the company did something unique in 2000. Bayliner invited dealers, their families and select customers, from all over the county to the docks of Placida, Florida. They were there to inspect, test drive, and offer thoughts and ideas for the redesigned Bayliner 3788 Motoryacht. As Capt. Bill Pike wrote in Power & Motoryacht at the time, “A savvy way of doing things, it seemed to me–tweaking a new model with input from people with first-hand knowledge of today’s boat buyers.”

In addition to tweaking the final details of the roomy, two-stateroom boat, Bayliner began offering customers a wide range of personalized option packages. Choices ranged from electronics and hardware packages to customized entertainment systems and galley stoves.

The sterling results of these innovated moves can be seen in the 2002 Bayliner 3788, currently on offer by California Yacht Sales on San Diego’s Harbor Island. The 37’0” motoryacht, which was reintroduced in 2003 as the Meridian 381, is in perfect condition. With a spacious flybridge, with room for five adults, the 3788 is the supreme machine for cruising and entertaining. Designed with an eye on décor, single-level salon features large windows, light colors, and an open floor plan.

While it would be hard to improve the Bayliner 3788, this boat was totally updated in 2010 with Meridian 381 brand logos, badges, and upholstery in addition to new carpeting, bedding, and cushions. Other features include a swim platform, a foredeck sun pad, a tub/shower in the head, and teak flooring in the galley. The two Cummins diesel engines with 708 hours do not have to work too hard to produce excellent performance for short and long-term cruising. Running at 17 to 19 knots, the hull handles water conditions exceptionally well—providing an easy ride for all those on board.

We also have several other Bayliner models currently in our brokerage inventory. But if you don't see the powerboat you are looking for when you read this, give us a call and we will search one out for you!
