Quality Found in Cruisers Yachts

Cruisers Yachts can trace its legacy back to 1904 when Thompson Brothers Boat Manufacturing was founded in the small northern Wisconsin town of Peshtigo. By the 1950s, the second generation of Thompson boat builders, brothers Bob and Ted, were crafting wood lapstrake outboard cabin cruisers in Oconto, Wisconsin. In 1956, the high-quality cabin cruisers bore the Cruisers badge and the company was building 60 boats per week.
Fast forward ahead to the 1990s, when Cruisers Inc. was purchased by entrepreneur K.C. Stock, an Oconto native who changed the company name to Cruisers Yachts. The company expanded its line to include express cruiser and flybridge style yachts. Today, the company maintains it ties to Oconto where over 450 people are employed meeting the high demand for Cruisers’ midsize to luxury pleasure yachts.
The popularity of Cruiser Yachts can be traced to a company philosophy which places quality and customer satisfaction before sales and profits. With more than 50 years of boat design experience, Cruisers considers each of their yachts to be floating works of art. Cabins are styled to allow a maximum of fresh air and natural light. Interior seating is elegant yet practical while galleys are accented with designer fixtures. Of course it’s performance that counts and all Cruisers models feature Volvo Penta IPS, a precision joystick handling system.
In 2013, Cruisers celebrated its 60th year of excellence. Two of the company’s classic yachts are presented for viewing at our California Yacht Sales docks on Harbor Island in San Diego. We always can find a good, clean used Cruisers yacht, like this 32 footer, presently available at the time of this writing. But if it’s gone, don’t worry, there’s more!
