History

Built in 1979 in Tampa Bay, Florida, Mi Amante, "My Lover" was first found as "Esprit de Mer" in 1997 in San Francisco Bay.

Purchased by knowledgeable boaters who were looking specifically for a Gulfstar 37 the boat transformation began and was completed in 2002.

Engine fittings, pumps, injectors and fuel lines were all replaced. Radar and autopilot, new batteries and water heater (to include all new pumps and hoses) were added. New lifelines, standing and running rigging came next.

Ports and hatches were re-bedded and reinstalled, the mast was stepped, the mast step re-built and the interior completely gutted. New fuel and water tanks came next. The cabin sole was upgraded to 3/4" marine ply, additional cabinetry was added in the salon. The boat was then completely re-wired.

Next the PUR 3.5 gal/hr watermaker was added, new anchoring system featuring Garhauer Marine, new solar panels, sails and canvas. The 1500 watt inverter and the LINK 2000 monitor system upgraded the electrical system. To complete the refit a new Adler Barbour refrigeration system was installed.

Last but nor least a 6 man Plastimo liferaft completed the project. Mi Amante then headed off to Acapulco.

Current ownership have kept Mi Amante updated. New batteries in 2015 along with new cutlass bearing. All through hulls were replaced (2015) and the bottom painted at that time. Rigging was inspected in 2014 and refurbished as necessary. A West Marine 8' roll up dingy was purchased in 2018.

Mi Amante is ready for her next adventure  - "un-pickel" the water maker and she's ready!
